With the intention of starting an old age home for the poor, abandoned women, a separate convent was established at Paingottoor. There was a land of about 6 acres donated to the F.C.C. sisters by Rev. Fr. Xavier Kochumuttam, the founder of the convent.  An old age home was started on 19th March 1979 under the patronage of St. Francis Xavier.  Rt. Rev. Dr. George Punnakkottil our Bishop blessed the convent. The Provincial Superior Sr. Joviet took initiative to start this house.  Rev. Sr. Baptista was the 1st Superior.

       Now about 25 aged women are looked after here.  Their expenses are met by the province.  Now new building is added and the Formees of the province who study in the Higher Secondary School stay here.  Some of the teaching sisters also stay here.
